Meet Bethany

Hello!
I’ve been happily married to The Man for nearly 27 years and have two grown children. We have two dogs and one cat, though currently, my daughter, her dog, and her ball python are living with us.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, went to college in California, work in Kentucky, and live in Ohio.

I was raised by born-again parents and became a Christian at the age of four, in part because I wanted to be like my big sister.

I continued to grow in my knowledge and faith and had the privilege of attending a Christian university where I received a bachelor’s in psychology while minoring in biblical studies. Except for a few years here and there, I have always been part of a church body.

I have always had an interest in creating art, though it was never something I diligently practiced or pursued. Only recently have I begun to see it as something God has given me to do, which means I have a responsibility to properly steward that talent.

Unlike art, I honestly didn’t think writing was something I was good at. It wasn’t until about 15 years ago that I began to think of writing as a possibility for me. Now, that same responsibility I am aware of with art, I am aware of when it comes to writing. Hence, this website.

I have long had an interest in music, but I’m not disciplined enough to learn an instrument. In college, God introduced me to another avenue in which I could be involved in music and worship. Since, I’ve helped run sound at the last three churches I attended, the ministry I’m currently part of, and the occasional mini-concert at a local venue.

I have not been formally trained in any of these areas, so there are gaps in what I know, and there is always room for improvement. But that’s life, right?

This website was born out of a passion for truth and accurate handling of the Word of God. I pull from a lifetime of independent study, good teaching, and personal experience, while being guided by the Holy Spirit. I share them with you in the hopes that you will be encouraged, your walk with God will mature, and that good conversation will help us grow—together.

Thanks for participating.
